The Forum was held at Disney's Yacht & Beach Club in Orlando, Florida. The TransPack Forum is truly a global event as attendees and speakers represented 15 countries. We enjoyed seeing a lot of returning attendees along with many new faces. Attendees included packaging lab engineers, managers, suppliers, product manufacturers, consultants and carriers. Students from California Polytechnic State University, Clemson University, Rochester Institute of Technology and the University of Wisconsin – Stout were also once again well represented at the Forum. An afternoon segment on Consumer Packaged Goods was part of the program this year. This segment included five quality presentations form Axiom, General Mills, PTIS, The J.M. Smucker Company and Unilever. The presenters concluded the session by conducting a panel discussion with questions from the audience. Forum Attendees were welcomed to a private reception at Disney's Animal Kingdom. To kick off the evening, attendees were surprised with a chance to experience the Kilimanjaro Safaris. Attendees enjoyed the open air vehicles to get a closer look at the exotic African animals in their natural habitats. After the safari, ISTA welcomed the attendees to Harambe Marketplace where they were able to sample a Taste of Africa! The evening created an atmosphere for great networking, entertainment and friendship! This event would not be the same without the support of our Diamond Sponsors. Thank you Lansmont Corporation and Packaging Corporation of America for continuing to support the Forum Welcome Reception! Twenty-Nine organizations presented their products and services at the Exhibitor Reception the next evening. Business discussions and networking took place in a relaxed setting where attendees were able to enjoy a great spread of food. Thank you to all of the exhibitors and attendees that made this year's reception successful! On Wednesday evening, attendees formed teams and competed in the annual TransPack Forum Beach Volleyball Tournament. Players and spectators had a lot of fun and the competition and networking were great. Thank you to the Platinum Sponsors DDL, L.A.B. Equipment Company, Pregis, SGS, Sonoco Protective Solutions and Techlab Systems for supporting this event! CPLP Workshops: The Certified Packaging Laboratory Professional workshops were held prior to the start of the Forum for both the Technician and Technologist levels. A total of 28 new certificates were earned with some people taking both classes. Check out page 17 for a complete list of the new recipients. Congratulations to all of the new Certified Technicians and Certified Technologists! R. David LeButt Award: Edward Church, was awarded the R. David LeButt award at the Forum.
