FOUR WAYS TO EFFECTIVELY DETOX WITH EXERCISE Why is it sometimes aer a work out, we feel light and clean? Is just the endorphins or did we actually experience an internal cleanse? I believe it's both. Today, our exposure to toxins is so high, that it is estimated that a three month old baby has been exposed to the same amount of toxins that a 70 year old was exposed to 100 years ago. Even before our environment was polluted, our bodies had a cleansing system. It is a part of our design. Many people are becoming increasingly aware of reducing exposure and eating clean. Each of these is essential, but one does not replace the other. As we become increasingly aware of the toxins in our environment and the need to detox, we need to remember, less is more. Safely detoxing should be a part of our everyday lives. Exercise is more than just helpful, it is an essential element to effectively and safely detox. Here are four ways exercise plays a vital role in cleaning us from the inside out. 1. SWEATweat Sweating is more than just a way to cool your body. It's the quickest and safest way to purge your body of accumulated toxins, including heavy metals. Can you fast track to a detox? Absolutely! Sweating is incredibly safe. When we sweat, our skin, the largest organ of our body, opens its pores. ink of it as many thousands of emergency exits. Detoxing is serious business. By sweating, one doesn't have to be concerned with putting a burden on internal organs, or reabsorbing toxins through the bloodstream. I love high intensity interval training (HIIT), because it enables our bodies to quickly and heavily sweat. e important word is "quick". I don't have a lot of time to exercise. I need quick efficient methods with max results. HIIT not only revs up your metabolism, burns fat, and increases your stamina, but it is fabulous for aiding your body's need to detox. An example of HIIT is doing push ups for 20 seconds, rest for 10 seconds, then do air squats for 20 seconds, rest for 10 seconds. Repeat this for 4 minutes. You can walk, run, bike or do any functional fitness exercise, of course my favorite is the kettlebell! HIIT uses the principle of pushing 60-100% and then resting.
