took a chance on me. Q: How long have you worked at Abby's? April 2012 through July 2015 Q: What do you like most about your job? I get along with just about everyone. The staff has become my family. Q: What do you like least about your job? I honestly can't think of one thing. Q: What is the most important information you have learned about health while at Abby's? I really became aware of GMO's as soon as I started working here. I definitely consume a lot less now than before. Q: What is the funniest thing that has happened at Abby's……while you were on the clock? I was flirting (I never do this) with a college girl at the checkout and I had her blushing…….then her dad, who I had no idea was related to her…..pulled up to the card reader to pay. There was a very awkward 15 second silence. I laughed about how silly it was after they left. Q: Customers have always raved about you and your customer service skills and how they enjoy checking out with you (Sid won the BEST ATTITITUDE award in 2014)……..where does your funny, joyful and helpful attitude come from? My dad does a bit of accents and they always catch you off guard. And if you knew my mom, she's always trying to put a smile on your face. Q: You are leaving Abby's for a year….tour of duty in Africa with the National Guard……what will you miss the most?...................what will you miss the least? I will miss the freedom of catching a movie as soon as it drops……and the awesome people I hang with………… …I will not miss the bills to pay monthly for sure. Q: Sid, tell our readers of one interesting thing about you that they may not know as a casual acquaintance? He really didn't answer this question, so the writer's privilege is invoked to tell you that Sid likes to write poetry and he is actually pretty good at it. My guess is, he will have some time on his hands in Africa and maybe produce some of his best work! Q: Do you have any parting words, thoughts or wisdom for your friends and co-workers as you leave for a year? Keep your heads up, as I keep mine down! One year will fly by before you know it! Writers Note: Dervyn (Sid to most) Amory is a wonderful young man that we at Abby's have all come to love and admire. We certainly appreciate his service to our country and our thoughts and prayers will be for his health and safety while serving. If you would like to send him a picture and note (so he knows who you are) see Darlene at the front. I'm sure we will be sending him packages from time to time.
