Gartner predicts that 50 percent of enterprises will deploy some form of
hybrid IT by 2017, an important acknowledgement of the potential benefit of
this application strategy. But Gartner also reports that "actual hybrid cloud
computing deployments are rare," which means that most companies are
missing out on this huge opportunity, not to mention failing to gain a first-mover
advantage. It's time for IT managers to fully embrace hybrid IT. Those who do
will not only deliver significant business benefits to their organizations, but also
position themselves as vital resources for years to come.
