Page 14 | Abby's Magazine | instagram.com/abbyshealthfood I recently met with the president of the Agrarian Club from the University of South Florida at our lovely farm. She was literally blown away by what was happening, growing and being developed at our farm in late May! They appear to be interested in partnering with us on some projects with the university and as that develops, you'll be hearing about it. The farm keeps us pretty busy, so unfortunately, I don't get out much to see what other folks are currently doing. Many community farms/ gardens seem to be focused primarily on raised bed gardening, probably related to location and size based on land availability. Abby's Organic Community Farm currently has: 97 raised beds; 9 row farming areas (10,000+ sq ft); 150+ fruit trees; 180 blueberry plants and close to 500,000 bees! So, as you might imagine that keeps our 100 volunteer families pretty busy. To accomplish The Future of Farming Visit our site to learn, contribute and/or volunteer!
