I have to agree with him… Yes, the Devil WAS mad that day… Because he tried to take away the spirit of God from Mother Emmanuel AME Church, and he failed miserably. He underestimated the faith and resolve of this wonderful group of people who have risen above the horrible atrocity that came against them, he also underestimated the love these people have for God. That day, just a month after the shooting, everyone was welcome, and the doors were open at the front of that wonderful, almost 200-year-old church. As we headed for our motorcycles after the service, there were more hugs, smiles and love shown to us as we moved past the makeshift memorial in front of the church building. It was one of the most awesome experiences of my life. We can take a lesson from Mother Emmanuel AME Church. No matter what may come against you, no matter, how you suffer, no matter who here on earth tries to beat you down, Jesus Christ will see you through. We went there to help heal a hurting church, we came home blessed by a living, loving, gracious, family of God.
