The elderly are the most at-risk and food insecure of those that we minister to in Haiti. Senior Feeding Program Our Food Cost for Each Distribution $1800 Estimated Meals Provided to Seniors 34,000 Seniors that Recieve Food for 2 Weeks 130 14 | In addition to the medical work that is happening through the clinic, we also have a feeding program for seniors. While they are primarily widows that come 2 times a month, the program is open to those over the age of 60. With food being so hard to get, receiving a bag of rice and beans to help put some food in their bellies has been a life saving experience for many. The elderly are the most at-risk and food insecure of those that we minister to in Haiti. For several years, we have provided a monthly food distribution to the elderly in our community. In 2021, as social unrest began to cause the supply chain to be cut off and limit the distribution of food and supplies around the country, inflation became rampant and access to food became limited. Many of those we serve with our food distribution suffered greatly because of the increased cost and scarcity of food. Your continued support and partnership allowed us to double the number of food distributions we provide in a month! Because of you, those most affected by the ongoing turmoil in Haiti, have food to help them survive this difficult season. At one of our distributions, we ran out of food before we ran out of people in need. Our precious staff took it upon themselves, with no promise of reimbursement, to take up a collection and purchase the extra food needed so those without would not go hungry. Their compassion and generosity is an example to us all and a glimpse of the Haitian culture of altruism and love. Our Exceptional Staff
