O The Plans He Has For You! Bro Newman In a recent men's Bible study, while reading in First Samuel, an alarm went off as I read, "What are you doing around here anyway?" and "Who is taking care of those few sheep in the desert for you?'" I've served in Black Sheep HDFC for more than a decade and yet this scripture still rings a bell. I know insecure people can cave in to such an insult, retreat, and think, "Well, maybe they're right, maybe I should go back and do something different than this motorcycle ministry stuff! Maybe this isn't for me! I'm not even worthy of bringing bread to my brothers who are fighting hard here in the war. Who do I think I am?!" A confident person (a person who knows who and whose he/she is) will have a different reaction to such a statement. The person confident in God's leading in his/her life will begin by thinking, "Aha, you Satan should beware because I know who I am and to whom I belong. The fact of the matter is that what God is about to do…no one can stop it from happening! His plans are unstoppable because He says to you, "'For I know the plans I have for you,' … 'plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you a hope and a future.'" I love Jeremiah 29:11! Here's my translation..."My plan concerning you is fixed and immovable! I want your happiness, not your unhappiness. I firmly intend to give you a future in which you will flourish. I, the Lord, tell you this because I love you!" So, be confident in who you are in God and the future He has for you! You want to know something? I too was told over and over again, "Oh, Bro! There are so few people you can reach through what you're doing in Motorcycle Ministry! It's not worth it!" If I had listened to that lie, those "few people" would never have become a portion of the hundreds of people Black Sheep ministers to on any given day. While you may let the adversary ask you, "Do you really think you're making a difference?" Take a look around. Do you see how important it is to not believe lies like these and to remain confident, trusting in God's future for you? A thousand possibilities are always born when we trust in the small things and walk in confidence, knowing that God has prepared the way. ENGAGE! and carry on good and faithful servant! ¿ Suite 118 Laz Alba, BSHDFC International President The last several months have been extremely busy for our ministry with the planning and hosting of The Gathering in Dallas, with the transition of leadership and staff, and with the moving of our international office from Murrieta, CA. to Hesperia, CA. 41658 Ivy Street Suite 118 in Murrieta, CA has been the location of our international office for more than 15 years and moving offices has been quite an undertaking. In fact, it has taken us over two months to complete the move. A huge "thank-you" to all who helped us with this task. I recently made my last visit to Suite 118 to pick up the few remaining items left. As I did one final walkthrough, I decided to sit on the carpet and just take in the moment because I realized that this would be my last time in Suite 118. Immediately I was overcome by two emotions: thankfulness and excitement! I was thankful for all that the Lord Jesus has done for and through our ministry the last 23 years. I was thankful for Marty and Debbie Edwards and their leadership and faithfulness in overseeing our ministry for so long. I was thankful for John and Vicky Lyons, who took care of the day-to-day operations of our ministry for so many years. I was thankful for those members who have served on previous international boards, for past local and regional leadership. You were all integral in shaping and growing BSHDFC to the ministry we are today. Sitting on the carpet in Suite 118, I also felt an excitement for our future as a ministry. I'm excited to have such a talented, innovative, and hardworking office staff. I'm excited to serve alongside our new international board and our current local and regional leadership. I'm excited because our ministry is comprised of such amazing, skillful, passionate, loving and serving people. I cannot wait to experience what God is going to do within and through our BSHDFC ministry in the years to come. Let's put Jesus first in all we do, and I promise we'll be left amazed on what He is going to do! ¿
