The Evolution of Motorcycle and Man Big Chris Bergman I was looking back at some photos of my bike and seeing where it started and where it is now. It made me think about the way God changes us and the way God has changed me. My bike started out as mostly a stock bike with a few modifications…much like myself. When I started my journey with Christ, I knew about God, and I understood who he was - but not completely. Not like I do now. Like my motorcycle, I was and still am a work in progress. Secondly, I did not choose my bike; my bike chose me. I did not decide to form a relationship with God, God chose me. My bike was doing fine before I came along, and it served a purpose and would keep serving its purpose just the way it was. But as for me, I was not in a good place and not doing fine and not living with purpose. Then, God chose me! My bike was gifted to me. I took the bike and slowly started working on it, changing the way it looked and improving the way it performed - just like God did in my life. He took me and started changing my heart and started changing the way I acted and the way I sounded and presented myself. My bike slowly evolved and by God's grace, so have I. My bike's improvements have taken a lot of hard work. It has given me quite a few headaches and there are times that I just wanted to give up on it and get on with something different. This is where the bike's evolution is so different from me. God does not get headaches and He has never wanted to give up on us! NEVER! God will never toss us aside and move on to someone else. He deeply loves every one of us and wants nothing but the best for us! God wants us to be happy in everything we choose to do in life. He tells us to love ourselves and to love him unconditionally. Today, my bike is nothing but a tool to glorify God, much in the same way God uses me to glorify him and to reach those others cannot reach. Jesus said, "Go and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit." (Matthew 28:19) That's exactly where my bike and I are going! •
