SHEEP SHORTS Love and Respect What if we told you a story about one of our members who broke their back some years ago. Over time it "healed" but they still suffered with pain on longer more strenuous rides. One of the local HOG members suggested a certain $700 saddle that would alleviate much his discomfort but this Black Sheep could not or would not spend that much money on himself. Without his knowledge, his local HOG chapter raised the necessary funds and purchased the saddle for him. What a wonderful display of love and compassion (a) from such a HOG chapter and from (b) a Black Sheep who was so loved by their chapter to receive such a gift. b ILS2021 Colorado Springs It's a solid green light for ILS2021! After a crushing disappointment last year, we are eager to see one another in Colorado Springs this June! This is a critical time for re- connecting, re-focusing and re- energizing for the mission ahead! Registration forms are now available online and on Facebook and the hotel is waiting for your call. Do not miss this great celebration because we really do need each other! b Black Sheep Classics: Yes, it's a thing! A new thing! In addition to the incredible motorcycle ministry of twenty-one years, we are about to launch a classic car ministry! Much like motorcycle riders, classic car and truck people are a sub- culture of their own. They frequent the same places, go on long road trips, listen to classic rock'n roll and eat foot that's generally not good for you! There is no "patch" or heavy "club protocols" to deal with this time around. It's just an opportunity for those who drive classic cars to reach out to those of like-mindedness with the love of Christ. Founders of BSC, Robert and Yadira Chavira, have chosen to "adapt" BSHDFC's bylaws, pledge and mentorship process for their membership? Why? Because, once again, BSC is not a club, it's a ministry. Like their big brother, it's not about cars and motorcycles, it's about finding ways to touch people who will likely never darken the door of a church. If interested, contact: RobertChavira.rc@gmail.com b Welcome Victoria Parker The national office has a new friend and employee, Victoria Parker! Vicky will be working part-time on our staff, promoting the ministry through advertising and social media. She has a great deal of experience working with websites, social media and promotions i.e. concerts and special events. Vicky is also a very talented professional photographer. (This position was previously filled by Annie Duckett who has since graduated from college and moved into a full-time position. b Daytona Bike Week: Our man Ozzie in Miami writes: "We in Southern Florida are planning to attend Daytona Bike Week this coming March (even if the event is officially closed). We are also planning to visit 10-11 Florida dealerships: Fort Myers Harley Davidson, Rossister HD, Tampa Bay HD, Harley Davidson, Brandon HD, Lakeland HD, Orlando HD, Sanford HD, Orlando HD (Third Time Visit, we have a good relationship with the dealership) Sanford HD (First Time Visit) Daytona Main Street Adamec HD at Saint Augustine (First Time Visit to this location), Daytona Speedway, Orlando HD and Destination Daytona (Third Time Visit). Get together at night." We welcome any Black Sheep to join us. Book your Airbnb or motel ASAP or other accommodations soon! The South will rise again! b Your Magazine: Once again we remind our members, "This is your magazine Black Sheep!" We welcome your road stories, your testimonies and your chapter's major events for publication. Tell us what is working or what has been happening in your chapters. We need iron to sharpen iron through these stories. We also seek ACTION photographs of you riding your motorcycles and interacting with one another and friends. b
