The hubless rear wheel also offers regenera ve braking which helps recharge the ba ery while riding. The le hand lever operates the back brake, while the right lever ac vates a conven onal twin-disc stopper on the front wheel. The RMK E2 is also ki ed out with sparse, modern bodywork and comes with a futuris c, Tesla- like digital instrument cluster with built-in naviga on mounted on top of its 'tank'. Orders are being taken now for the £24,000 (about $27,000 US) machine. The company says it aims to be making 4000 bikes a year by 2025 and also says it will distribute bikes in the UK next, although details are s ll being finalized. HARLEY-DAVIDSON PLOTTING FAIRED SPORTBIKE B y B E N P U R V I S Harley-Davidson's rela onship with sportbikes has been a tumultuous one over the years, but it looks like H-D is planning to add a faired, high-performance model to the range within the next couple of years and this patent might just give us a glimpse of what that bike will look like. Rumors of a new sport model, paying homage to the 1990s VR1000 racebike, first emerged last year and were bolstered by glimpses of design sketches and even a clay model for a faired sportbike in a promo onal video for the "More Roads to Harley-Davidson" product strategy, announced in August 2018. The new patent, which is the work of several seasoned H-D designers including those behind the LiveWire's look, appears to firm up the plan. Although the patent only shows the front, upper fairing—giving no clue to the rest of the bike's shape, its frame design, or even its power source—the chances are this is des ned for a new water-cooled V-twin model (see drawing below). Water-cooled because the fairing's side vents hint at the presence of a radiator, and V-twin because, well, it's a Harley- Davidson. The design, which is simply described as "the ornamental design for a motorcycle fairing" in the patent, bears some similari es to the VR1000. The side profile in par cular is reminiscent of the old racer, which competed in AMA Superbike from 1994 to 2001. WHEELS OF GRACE MAGAZINE REACHES NEW HEIGHTS!
