The fourth stop on the Romans Road to salvation is Romans 10:9 , "that if you confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved." Because of Jesus' death on our behalf, all we have to do is believe in Him, trusting His death as the payment for our sins - and we will be saved! Romans 10:13 says it ag ain, "for everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved." Jesus died to pay the penalty for our sins and rescue us from eternal death. Salvation, the forgiveness of sins, is available to anyone who will trust in Jesus Christ as their Lord and Sa vior. The final aspect of the Romans Road to salvation is the results of salvation. Romans 5:1 has this wonderful message, "Therefore, since we have been justified through faith, we have p eace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ." Through Jesus Christ we can have a relationship of peace with God. Romans 8:1 teaches us, "Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those wh o are in Christ Jesus." Because of Jesus' death on our behalf, we will never be condemned for our sins. Finally, we have this precious promise of God from Romans 8:38 - 39 , "For I am conv inced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord ." Are you ready to surrender your life to Christ? If so, here is a simple prayer you can pray to God. Saying this prayer is a way to declare to God that you are relying on Jesus Christ for your salvation. The words themselves will not save you. Only faith in Jesus Christ can provide salvation! "God, I kn ow that I have sinned against you and am deserving of punishment. But Jesus Christ took the punishment that I deserve so that through faith in Him I could be forgiven. With your help, I place my trust in You for salvation. Thank You for Your wonderful grac e and forgiveness - the gift of eternal life! Amen!" If you made a decision for Christ today, please let us know. The Bible describes what you have just done as being "reborn." As you can imagine, any newborn needs to be nourished and cared for. BSHDFC w ould like to help you find a good church where the Bible is being taught and new believers are welcome. Contact: Pastor Marty Edwards at BS.PREZ@Yahoo.com and "welcome to the family!" Hey! Can I Tinker With Your Bike? Marty & Debbie Edwards (Psalms for Bikers) Psalm 1 reads: " Blessed is the one who does not walk in step with the wicked or stand in the way that sinners take or sit in the company of mockers, but whose delight is in the law of the L ORD , and who med itates on his law day and night. That person is like a tree planted by streams of water, which yields its fruit in season and whose leaf does not wither — whatever they do prospers. Not so the wicked! They are like chaff that the wind blows away. Therefore the wicked will not stand in the judgment, nor sinners in the assembly of the righteous. For the L ORD watches over the way of the righteous, but the way of the wicked leads to destruction " . We were all sitting at the local Harley dealership on a lazy Satu rday afternoon chomping down free hotdogs and sodas, when Harry, with his mouth still full from the previous bite, began to expound upon the mysteries the universe . Harry can tell you anything about marriage because he's been married four times. And he's p retty good with the world of finance too because he's gone bankrupt...twice! He had not been yackin' long however, before Charlie chimed in with his version of all truth and wisdom. He assured us of its accuracy by remind ing us that he heard it from Ralph in the parts department. Far fetched? Not really! How many of us have drawn our conclusions on life and eternity from something we heard someone say? Equally bad, we heard it on T.V. or the radio or saw it in some form of social media! How many times have you heard someone begin their "truth" with the words, "Well, it just seems to me..." The Bible tells us, however, "There is a way that seems right to man, but in the end it leads to death." (Proverbs 14:12) Would you allow me to work on YOUR bike based u pon, "Well, it just seems right to me...?" or according to "What I've always heard..." Yeah, I don't think so. God says, "Hey! You can listen to what everybody else today (which will change by this time tomorrow) or you can focus your th oughts on me and my Word...the Bible; the truth that will never change or pass away. You can follow the chattering of men and you will end up like dried leaves being blown by the wind, not free, just out of control with no direction. Or, listen to me and y ou'll be like a beautiful tree down by the stream; drinking in the truth that, in the end, will set you truly free." BSHDFC E - MAG JANUARY 2020 / PAGE 5
