C haracter , I ntegrity and F aithfulness . BSHDFC Mentorship The ministry of Black Sheep is looking for men and women o f high character , integrity and faithfulness . Do you understand the importance of these words? Character speaks to the mental and moral qualities distinctive to an individua l . For example, t he American dollar (for now) has character. If I were to offer you a fifty - dollar bill you would likely take it – gladly! But what if I crumpled up that same fifty - dollar bill, stomped it into the ground and tore it a bit? Would you still want it ? Of course, because in spite of all appearances, its ' character is intact! It is still worthy fifty - dollars. Author John Maxwell helps us to und erstand by comparing character to mer e emotion : Integrity speaks to the quality of being honest and having strong morals; whole and undivided; To the ancient Hebrew, the word integrity meant completeness, moral innocence, or perfection. The exact opposit e of compromise. Integrity defines to others who you are. When someone thinks of you, inevitably, they will think about whether or not you have integrity. Integrity is also strength you can trust in/depend upon like when someone asks, "Does that bridge ha ve integrity." Integrity determines how you will react in certain situations. When you are faced with circumstances where you have choice to either do right or do wrong, your integrity, or lack of it, will determine what you do. Integrity demonstrates y our spiritual condition. If you have no integrity, then you have a spiritual problem, because God wants us to be righteous, to have integrity. If you lack integrity , it can damage your testimony and the reputation of this ministry. If someone knows that you have no integrity, they will certainly not listen to you when you share the Gospel with them. Faithfulness is the ability to be loyal, constant and steadfast; to follow through with a commitment regardless of the difficulty. Hallmark produced a card that sadly depicts the expectations of our day. It read, "I can't promise you forever, but I can promise you today." That might be fine for some, but most of us are looking for a lot more. Aren't we glad that: "The Lord is good & H is love endures forever; His faithfulness continues through all generations." (Psalm 100:5) BSHDFC is hungry for men and women who possess c haracter, i ntegrity and f aithfulness . We will trade these for all of the money, beauty and charisma in the world! I would rather have one member of character, integrity and faithfulness than a dozen millionaires ready to financially carry this ministry, for a few hundred of these kinds of people would rock the motorcycle community and lead thousands to Christ! In the motorcycle world, reputation is everything! For Christians, reputation is called "witness." Witness (or reputation) is not something that we can sew on our back, send out in a flyer or post on our website. Our members who purpose to cultivate character, in tegrity and faithfulness will develop witness over years. It will not be easy and there will be sacrifice, but those who understand what counts will invest in these. The first objection that most non - believers have against Christians is that we are "hypocrites." We're not sure if they know what that word means since it is applied to anyone they don't care for, but a hypocrite is simply someone who says one thing but do es another. By the definitions given above, integrity, character and faithfulness dispel the accusation of hypocrisy. The Apostle Peter spoke of this in his epistle: "Live such good lives among the pagans that, though they accuse you of doing wrong, they may see your good deeds and glorify God on the day he visits us." (1Peter 2:12) Black Sheep consider themselves ambassadors of the Lord Jesus Christ! When an ambassador from a country mi sbehaves overseas, his actions reflect on his whole country. If you choose to put a Black Sheep patch on your back, you agree to represent this ministry to the world! Are you ready for that? Ecclesiastes 4:12 assures us, " A cord of thr ee strands is not quickly broken." Today I see that unbreakable chord as integrity, character and faithfulness .
