Page 6 | www.BlackSheepHDFC.org Bob "Fozzie" Foss Southern Maine BSHDFC, President I would like to tell you about our 12th Annual Bike Blessing and Breakfast in Hollister, Maine earlier this month. Our Southern Maine Black Sheep chapter invited Temecula Valley (CA) Black Sheep, Micah and Alicia Orloff to come and be the speaker for our event. They arrived on Wednesday evening, before the big weekend, at the Portland Jetport where I happen to serve as a security officer. A er dinner and a good night's rest we woke up early and treated them to the sights and sounds of beau ful Southern Maine including the famous Nubble Lighthouse on Cape Neddick. [Editor's Note: All of this is meant to en ce you West Coasters to a end next year's event!] On Friday we rode to the Rochester Harley Davidson in Rochester, NH to meet with our Northeast Regional Director Marve Ohlson and his lovely wife Lisa. They are from Western New York. Members from several other states joined us including Pennsylvania, Maryland, Massachuse s and New Jersey. We road through the countryside of New Hampshire and Maine, making sure to stop and eat as much seafood as we could along the way! Eventually the army arrived at Big Moose Harley-Davidson where we prayed for some HOG members and blessed the bike of my co-worker who was picking up his 2013 Road King he had just purchased. From the dealership we con nued on to the Portland Head Lighthouse and then onto the Hollis Center Church where we joined the rest of the Southern Maine chapter and members from Connec cut. (Are you coun ng the BSHDFC states that were involved so far? Black Sheep from nine states par cipated in our annual bike blessing and breakfast!) On Saturday morning we were able to serve breakfast to over 300 bikers and friends, and bless 157 bikes! Micah Orloff did a great job with the message; represen ng Jesus and this ministry! The 12Th AnnuAl MAine Bike Blessing This was the biggest event ever for our Black Sheep in Southern Maine! Area contacts from New Hampshire, Dave and Becky Neuenschwander, brought forty riders from their Seacoast HOG chapter. Dave and Becky were also gracious enough to let Micah and Alicia use their Ultra Classic CVO for the weekend! (Whatever happened to: "Nobody rides my bike!" Thanks Dave and Becky!) A er the big event we had to say goodbye to some of our friends and fellow sheep, but the rest of us rode to the 95th annual Laconia Motorcycle Week fes vi es. (The oldest motorcycle rally in the United States) More riders than ever before saw more Black Sheep patches in Southern Maine. Tens of thousands of riders filled the roads and beaches! Before leaving the area we stopped by Laconia Harley-Davidson to pick up the required souvenirs and t-shirts! We were even able to share what our ministry is all about with the local HOG chapter that was selling cold water. A er the Laconia Rally it was back to our home in Hollister for pizza and fellowship. On Sunday morning a group of Southern Maine Sheep brought Micah and Alicia to the home church of our new area contacts in Andover, Massachuse s, Jus n and Tammilynn Elerath. (The Elerath's had just transferred their membership from Southern California the month before.) A er church we were all able to go to lunch and to their local dealership where they will be serving: High Octane Harley- Davidson. It's interes ng how motorcycle ministry works. We prayed with bikers at the dealerships, at a church, at the Laconia Rally and even at a gas sta on along the way! There was a man in a wheelchair at the gas stop who no ced our patches and wanted to talk. It was such a "God Space" moment that allowed us to pray for and encourage him.
