Over the next few years, God was working on me. I con nued to look at choppers, but the Lord was doing a new work and I was growing as a young Chris an. Three years later, a er I completed my financial commitment to the church, I went looking for my dream chopper. I was directed to a beau ful 2005 AIH Texas Chopper at Life Style Cycles which in 2010 s ll had only 1800 miles on it! It was like brand new – but instead of selfishly spending $30,000, I bought my new chopper for half of that amount! Arlene and I have logged more than thirty thousand miles on our chopper! It's a real ministry tool. At a stoplight, the bike gets the first looks and then people see our Black Sheep patches with "Jesus Is Lord!" Every intersec on is an opportunity for people to be confronted with the Lord and thoughts of eternity. I am so happy to be riding for the Lord and to be a part of the Black Sheep family! I just love the excitement that comes from building and owning a chopper! In 2002 my job took me to Southern California from New England. I looked forward to ge ng another chopper and being able to ride it year round in the sunny California weather. God, however, had another plan for me and I soon found myself at Greg Laurie's church: Harvest Chris an Fellowship in Riverside. Having just gone through a divorce, I was at a very low place in my life. I sold my business (an alarm company), sold my house and just ran from my life on the East coast. One day at Harvest, the pastor invited people to come forward to pray. About fi y people went forward and I was one of them. Li le did I know my life was about to change dras cally and all for the good! I became a follower of Christ. I met Arlene and we began to date…God's way. I s ll longed for another custom chopper, constantly looking, drooling and test riding them every chance I got. I knew it was going to be expensive, something in the neighborhood of $30,000, but I also knew what I wanted! As I got closer to buying, my newfound church announced one Sunday that it planned to start a mul million dollar building expansion campaign and asked us in the congrega on to prayerfully consider dona ng over the next three years. My heart sank as I said to myself, "There goes my new chopper!" Bike of the Month The Story Behind the Bike Chopper Bob, Pres. Hickory No.Carolina BSHDFC
