excre on. Such fields are known to induce current in metals and would increase the effects of galvanism. Mechanisms by Which Mercury & Heavy Metals Cause Chronic Inflammatory Conditions Metals like mercury bind to SH-groups (sul ydryl) in sulfur compounds like amino acids and proteins, changing the structure of the compound that it is a ached to. This o en results in suppression of the immune system and in the immune systems T-cells not recognizing them as appropriate nutrients and a acking them with chronic exposure resul ng in autoimmunity. Such binding and autoimmune damage has also been documented in collagen. Melatonin, vitamin E, and vitamin C have been found to counter these adverse effects. Theaflavins from black tea, EGCG from green tea, and Curcumin have also been found effec ve at inhibi ng inflammatory effects. Mercury from amalgam fillings has also been documented to cause prolifera on of the inflammatory cytokine IL-8. IL-8 is responsible for much of the acute inflamma on in inflammatory condi ons such as asthma, gum disease, inflammatory bowel disease (IBS), etc. Theaflavins from black tea have been found to block such effects of IL-8 and C-reac ve protein (CFP) and to have beneficial effects for many inflammatory condi ons, including asthma, gum disease, IBS, strokes, pancrea s, coli s, cancer, cardiovascular disease, etc. Many clinics and studies involving thousands of pa ents have found that pa ents with allergic reac ve condi ons such as oral lichen planus, eczema, chronic allergies, etc. usually recover or have significant improvements a er amalgam replacement. Of a group of 86 pa ents with CFS symptoms, 78% reported significant health improvements a er replacement of amalgam fillings within a rela vely short period. Pa ents with other systemic neurological or immune symptoms such as arthri s, myalgia, OLP, MCS, MS, etc. also o en recover a er amalgam replacement. Cases of documented clinical cases with recovery a er amalgam replacement include: • eczema and contact derma s, • psoriasis, • asthma, • lupus, • allergies, • chronic mul ple chemical sensi vi es, • oral lichen planus, • CFS, • muscular/joint pain/fibromyalgia, and • MS. Mercury has been found to accumulate in connec ve ssue, resul ng in lupus or scleroderma. As an example of experience of those with allergic condi ons a er amalgam replacement, a German study followed a large group of pa ents. Over 50% followed indicated they experienced significant improvement a er amalgam replacement for 5 chronic condi ons: asthma, chronic bronchi s, polymyosi s, eczema, contact allergy, and food allergy. As has been seen, toxic metals like mercury cause pro-inflammatory cytokines and inflamma on, so reduc ons in exposure and body burden such as amalgam Page 46 | Abby's Magazine - www.AbbysMag.com
