John Lyons purchased the 2009 Road King Classic new in 2009,
just a few months a er he lost his first wife to cancer. He had
ridden other bikes when he was younger, but this was his first
Harley-Davidson. In his mind, it
would be a way to escape and
distract himself from his grief, but
God had other plans. During that
me of healing, God's Spirit kept
tugging at John's heart and pu ng
Black Sheep: Harley-Davidsons
for Christ in his path. In October
2009, John joined Black Sheep and
con nued to let God do his healing
work in his heart. Within three
years, John had 50,000 miles on his
bike and a lot of new friends. He has
many stories to tell about those road
trips with his friend Bruce who is also
a Black Sheep member.
In 2011 John offered his back seat to Vicki who was looking for a
way to get to a
Black Sheep rally
in Oakhurst. That
first ride led to
many others and
they were later
married in July
of 2014. The
bike also went
through some
transforma ons
during this me.
