Dr. Dan Durrieu Family Health Chiropractic 5015 W. Waters Ave. Tampa, Fl. 33634 PH. 813-882-8181 How can Chiropractic help with migraines, ear infections, children with asthma and all of those annoying health issues people suffer from every day? We were all born with an innate intelligence that directed our information in the womb. Innate means "born with" and intelligence simply means "wisdom." This innate intelligence ensured that our fingers grew off the arms buds and not off the top of our head. It connected our stomach to our intestines, not our liver. It allowed two cells to connect together and form a fetus. This innate intelligence controls and coordinates the function of every cell, tissue, organ and system in the human body. The innate intelligence sends messages over the detailed nervous system. Chiropractic deals directly with the Central Nervous System, the mind-body connection. The nervous system is made up of 100 billion brain neurons, and over 45 miles of nerves. Sometimes we do not recognize the importance of the nervous system on our health until we hear of how trama affected people who sustained serious injury to their spine. Messages from the brain travel along the spinal cord which is protected by the 24 spinal bones or vertebrae. From the spinal cord extend nerves that send signals to every part of the body. These nerves exit the spinal cord between bones called vertebrae. When a vertebra shifts out of alignment, this passageway is altered and pressure is placed on the nerve. This type of pressure is called a Vertebral Subluxation. Paralysis is total blockage of nerve signals and 0% function, a subluxation is a partial dislocation of a spinal bone causing partial blockage of nerve signals and less than 100% function. Each body part has a nerve supply from a specific spinal level and if that nerve supply is diminished the organ cannot function correctly and is therefore not going to work and function at 100%. When a body part does not function at 100%, the body can develop disease. Subluxation partially paralyzes the tissue or organ supplied by corresponding level of the spinal subluxation, and that is very concerning. Research shows that after having a subluxation for two weeks you can have irreversible damage to the body. Research also shows that a subluxation can cause enough nerve compression to cause death by altering the communication signals transmitted over the nervous system to the heart, lungs and other vital organs. Correction of the subluxation is so important. The only Doctor who is trained to remove and correct subluxation is a Chiropractor. Chiropractors have eight years of education and have passed four National Board Exams in order to qualify to begin practice. When you receive a chiropractic adjustment, it is very gentle, extremely safe, and is very effective in restoring health. Right after an adjustment is given and the subluxation is corrected, the body's innate intelligence has a chance to heal and restore function to the body. That is why chiropractic helps people with such things as asthma, ear infections, headaches, fibromyalgia, cancer, bowel problems, allergies, deafness, tinnitus, migraines, menstrual cramps, low back pain, neck pain and any musculo-skeletal problems. One of the best things about Chiropractic is how it helps your body heal without the use of drugs and surgery. Restore your health with Chiropractic. Abby's Magazine - Volume 4 Issue 6| Page 5
