WheelsOfGrace.com Volume 8 Issue 5 17 AND MORE HARLEY-DAVIDSON JOINS FORCES WITH MARVEL SUPER HEROS By Steve McDowall A collabora on between Harley-Davidson, its dealers and Marvel comics has produced one of the most interes ng ranges of custom Harley's we've seen – a collec on of motorcycles inspired by some of the most powerful and iconic Marvel characters. Harley-Davidson started by customizing a Street Glide Special to commemorate the 75th Anniversary of Captain America's first appearance in a Marvel comic, and then inspired dealers across Australia and New Zealand to create their own Marvel character inspired custom motorcycle using the wider Harley-Davidson range. The result is a collec on of 27 custom motorcycles (some featured below), each one uniquely designed to reflect the personality and traits of a Marvel Super Hero. The collabora on showcases some of the most popular Marvel characters and Harley-Davidson models "a Groot-inspired Street Glide Special from the Touring range, a Thor-inspired Breakout from the So ail family, and a Black Widow-inspired Iron 883 from the Sportster family" David Turney from Harley-Davidson said, "the results have been phenomenal. A true combina on of super powers, with over 16 Marvel characters represented." And Gavin Ashcro , CMO of the Walt Disney Company Australia/New Zealand said: "It's exci ng to see such a rich legacy of iconic characters and their individual stories so crea vely captured". Visitors to Oz Comic Con in Sydney (on September 10 & 11, 2016) were able to see a selec on of bikes from the collec on. Sydney-siders also checked out the Captain America custom Harley-Davidson motorcycle which was on display at Myer in Pi Street Mall.
