2020 VISION 10 C O R E V A L U E S | C O M M U N I T Y 3 4 5 6 7 We will discipline and correct students in a manner that promotes learning, repairs relationships, and restores the student back into the community. We believe love is cultivated in the hearts of those who take action and help others, and we have seen firsthand how involvement in voluntary service transforms students' lives; therefore we will provide students with opportunities on campus, in the community, and abroad to serve and minister to others. We will invest time and energy in emerging student leaders, training them to become positive culture-makers and community allies. We highly value activities beyond the classroom for their unique ability to foster community, forge character, and spark new friendships. Our culture encourages and celebrates students' involvement in athletics, the arts, adventure, and service to others. We seek to develop meaningful partnerships with parents in the education of their children and are committed to strengthening families through effective communication, teacher-initiated affirmations, and parent education programs. 1 2 THIS MEANS: We will hire administrators, teachers, coaches, and staff who are motivated to develop and enjoy positive relationships with students, who work best in a relational model of instruction, and who are able to mentor while still maintaining professional boundaries. We will foster a virtuous school culture that helps shape students' character, love for God, and love for others, and we will remove students or parents from the community who prove to be hostile towards Linfield's mission or harmful to the culture.
