LINFIELD CHRISTIAN SCHOOL 89 What is a SLAMO? A co-curricular activity for students that is related to Service, Leadership, Adventure, Missions, or Outreach H O W Y O U C A N H E L P Some early victories for the CHRIST-CENTERED ($77,000) Jan 2014 to Dec 2015 • HS Missions Funding for Mexico & Haiti Trips - $65,000 • HS Chaplain Position - $12,000 2 0 2 0 V I S I O N The organizational attribute of being Christ-centered is dependent upon the school community's posture towards Jesus Christ. Linfield is Christ-centered when its people are centered on Jesus in thought, word, and deed. Therefore, our hope and prayer is for students to grow and develop a whole-hearted faith in Jesus that is rooted in Scripture and lived out in their day-to-day lives. We believe we can do this much more effectively if we have a chaplain at each division. The role of a school chaplain is fourfold: 1. To provide spiritual oversight for the Bible Department, classes, and curriculum. 2. To provide spiritual and pastoral leadership for chapels. 3. To provide spiritual and administrative leadership of SLAMOs. 4. To develop and implement leadership training programs. Adding a chaplain at the Elementary, Middle, and High School will improve chapels, strengthen the Bible curriculum, and expand co-curricular opportunities for students to serve and lead. Linfield's mission statement culminates with "….in order that they might serve the Lord and the world through their character and leadership." We need chaplains to lead this charge.
