RIGHT In 1936, Dr. Mabel Culter, then Dean of Women at the Bible Institute of Los Angeles, saw a need for a school that would integrate the best components of secular education with the historical and spiritual truths of the Christian faith. She began the school in a private home with only a handful of students and taught many of the required subjects herself.
