2020 VISION 20 C O R E V A L U E S | C O L L E G E P R E P 3 4 5 6 7 We seek students from diverse backgrounds who clearly demonstrate the ability to earn a Linfield diploma and to be a contributing member of the school community. We also want relationships with parents and families who will actively partner with us in support of the school and its mission. We will provide the means and support for students to be successful academically, and we will partner with parents, in their primary leadership role, to work together in facilitating students' growth and achievement. We will maintain high expectations for the quality of our students' work; a Linfield diploma consistently meets or exceeds the University of California admission standards. We place a high priority on the development of moral values and leadership skills as essential qualities for success in higher education and in life, recognizing the need for strength and balance in the "whole person." Therefore, our curriculum is designed to challenge students not only intellectually, but also emotionally, physically, and spiritually, and in our classes, we look for opportunities to practice teamwork and relational skills, to celebrate the arts, and to emphasize the importance of integrity and determination. We emphasize proficiency in analytical reading, critical thinking, persuasive communication, effective writing, and innovative, collaborative problem solving, all highly valuable skills which give our students an extra edge, not only in college but also with prospective employers. 1 2 THIS MEANS: We will recruit, develop, and reward great teachers who are passionate about their subject and effective in their craft. We will provide comprehensive coursework in all academic disciplines to inspire student engagement, critical thinking, and creative problem-solving. We will also encourage a growth mindset, emphasizing continuous improvement and a willingness to learn from mistakes, as we strive to cultivate a learning climate that stimulates the joy of discovery, awakens wonder, and promotes life-long learning.
