LINFIELD CHRISTIAN SCHOOL 17 LEFT Bret attended Linfield as a high school student in the 1980's and played baseball for the Lions. ABOVE Not long after graduating, Bret returned to Linfield as a coach and eventually became a full time teacher. L I V I N G T H E L E G A C Y After spending so much of his life as a member of the Linfield family, Bret maintains that the value of this community goes far beyond all of the fun activities and close relationships; it is something that is woven into the very fabric of the campus. Because we recognize the inherent value in each and every person as an image-bearer of God, created for a unique purpose, it not only affects how we encourage one another in faith, it even influences the way in which we focus on academic success. "I not only want students to leave here and enjoy the time because I invested in them as people, but I also want it because we are a school, and there's an academic thing that has to happen," Bret concludes. "But this isn't just for college; it's also because our students will be part of my community, and their education will open doors to help them be what God's created them to be, which will affect our community. It goes back to Linfield's mission statement; we teach students all these things 'in order that they may serve the Lord and the world through their character and leadership.' That's the goal." OPPOSITE Bret truly loves his position as Middle School Principal, and despite his busy schedule, he takes time each day to build relationships with students and to invest in their lives.
