he world came to Seattle in 1962. From its beginning through closing night, the Century 21 Exposition welcomed nearly 10 million people to a city most knew little about. They came to see the Space Needle, to ride the Bubbleator and to touch a little piece of the future. Fifty years later, WAC members still stand near the heart of the planning, preparation and promotion of our city's most memorable six months. As we look back, we recall their involvement in helping the Seattle World's Fair redefine our region. We also recount the memories of some of those who walked the fairgrounds, spread the word and watched their dream become reality.
