With the race for the U.S. presidency heating up, the matter of outsourcing will
become an issue of note, particularly as it relates to the technology world. But
this issue, thanks in part to jingoistic mantras and emotionalism, is rife with
fuzzy thinking. Every consumer and every company outsources something,
whether it's production of a raw material, manufacturing of a finished product
or performance of some service. Yet certain cases of outsourcing perennially
raise dander, such as the H-1B visa program (which may not technically be
outsourcing, but it's related). Is outsourcing right or wrong?
