Agarikon is the strongest antiviral known. Andrographis - anti-inflammatory, antiviral, antimicrobial, antiprotozoa, antioxidant, blood sugar. Astragalus - immunomodulator, anti-aging, adrenal health, kidney health, energy. Echinacea (full spectrum extract) - boosts white blood cells including natural killer cells, moves and cleanses lymph. Good for pain in the neck under the jaw from swollen lymph nodes. Olive leaf - contains oleuropein. Anti-fungal, antiviral, antibacterial, heart health, blood pressure, blood sugar. One of Abby's favorites. Slows viral shedding, budding, assembly, and replication. Cat's Claw - anti-inflammatory, immunodulator, antioxidant, antihypertensive, increases phagocytosis. Licorice, marshmallow, aloe, slippery elm - immune cell communication, inhibit antigens of pathogens from attaching to cells, antiviral. Good for dry coughs and sore throats. Aged garlic extract - immunomodulator, anticarcinogenic, Th1 immune responses, antioxidant. Plant sterols - immunomodulators, do not take if you have very low cholesterol levels. Elderberry - antiviral, febrifuge (lowers fever), decongestant. Good choice for kids because it tastes good. Prebiotics, Probiotics, Postbiotics - 70% of the immune system is in the gut and there's more bacteria in your body than there are cells. Probiotics are foundational for a myriad of immune responses. Shilajit/humic & fulvic acid - antiviral, immunomodulator, pro & anti-inflammatory, GABA mimetic. Lysine - blocks the receptor sites where viruses try to secrete enzymes to spread through the body. Vitamin A, C, E, D3, Zinc, Selenium - foundational vitamins and minerals which provide a host of immune benefits - NK cells, neutrophils, innate & adaptive immunity, macrophages, T & B cells, etc. Colostrum or IGG - good source of antibodies. Antibodies tag pathogens so your immune system knows to destroy them. Important for innate immunity, GI health, and non-breastfed adults & children. Temporary use: Goldenseal - contains berberine. Antibacterial, anti-fungal, anti-protozoa, anti-viral, blood sugar, heart health, anti- inflammatory, anti-tumor. Good for pain in neck under the jaw line due to swollen lymph. Grapefruit seed extract - antibacterial, anti-fungal, anti- protozoa, antiviral. Silver - antiviral, anti-fungal, antibacterial, anti-protozoa. Good for ear, nose, throat, and eye infections. Garlic containing allicin - antimicrobial, anti-fungal, antiviral, anti-inflammatory. Foods/Lifestyle Limit processed foods and refined sugars. Limit high arginine foods (chocolate and nuts). Limit iron intake from foods and supplements. Limit dairy, meat, and other animal foods. Eat mushrooms, garlic, onions, ginger, peppers, fermented foods, manuka honey, citrus fruits, seaweed, and nutritional yeast. Nasal sprays, essential oils such as the four thieves remedy, ear oils, and hand washing are also precautionary measures one can take to reduce the spread of germs.
