When children are young, responsible parents put into place a daily routine. For example, waking up at the same time, eating breakfast, brushing teeth, etc. The purpose of this is to instill positive, healthy habits that should maintain to maturity. However, without someone to direct us as adults, it's easy to lose sight of daily routines and live a haphazard life- style. Consistency and repetition can have healthy style. Consistency and repetition can have healthy benefits and potentially keep stress at bay. When life becomes disorganized, it can cause nega- tive physical changes to our bodies. For instance, stress can cause insomnia, heartburn, weakened immune system or high blood sugar. The application of daily habits can reduce stress and promote good health. Structuring your day may seem daunting, so consider implementing small changes initially. For example, start your day with making your bed every example, start your day with making your bed every morning or doing some stretches. Personally, I enjoy going out to feed my horses every morning. By start- ing off with a repetitive assignment, I have accom- plish a task, feel relaxed and I end up in positive mood. Once you have implemented one habit, work on implementing another task that will help promote productivity, organization, or a healthy mindset. At- tempt to make one change each month and by the end of the year, you may have twelve new healthy habits changing your life.
